Helping his
grandmother into the town car, Will leaned down so she could press a kiss to her cheek. As much as he loved his grandmother, he was glad she was finally decamping from House Vendetta and he was finally able to give her back her damn phone. And his phone, number finally reinstated, had been replaced finally.
"I hate it when you don't smile William. You know if you just let me here one of those Sullivan boys to take care of the problem-" Will sighed, cutting off his grandmother as he made sure she was belted in and was comfortable. He could do that, he could do a lot of things without overly thinking about the end of his marriage or the fact his wife- the fact his friend hadn't tried to contact him at all.
"By problem you mean take care of my wife, don't you grandmother? You know I love her, why would that help?" Will asked, taking a step backwards so he could close the door. "I'm a grown man, I can look after myself."
"I know sweetie but that doesn't stop me from wanting to help you. You haven't seemed this down since- well." Will nodded because he did know what she was talking about. Poseidon, he needed a drink. "You know we love you. Now, don't forget to tell Ed he's still my favourite. You're nice and all but really sweetie sad drunk is just not a good look for you."
"Of course grandmother," Will replied with a tired smile, taking a step backwards as his grandmother called out to him goodbye as the car pulled away. Waving he waited at least one minute before checking missed calls again to see if Corry had called. Hand tightening around it, he pushed it back into his pocket before ignoring it. He had to stop doing this to himself. "Fuck it, I'm going for a drink."
It was still early but that meant that it was time for a drink somewhere.
