"Despite everything. The everything being her telling me she loves me and wants to marry me, lying to my face and our friends and my family, embarrassing me in front of all of them because she loves me. No, not me. She doesn't love me, she loves Les. She just never worked it out," Will said, taking the drink and settling it against his chest. He liked Les, he loved Corry. He didn't blame it, he just- he wanted to be happy but he'd thought that happiness was with him. He was happy with her after all. Happier than he'd been in a long time, comfortable in his own skin with someone. "She just had to marry me first to figure it out. And then he'll figure it out because who wouldn't love her? And I'll get to watch her be happy with him."
And the stupid thing was he'd be happy about it. He'd be happy she'd found someone who made her as happy as she made him.
Pressing the glass to his lips he drained the glass dry in two seconds before holding it out to Lara. He was going to be happy for them. But maybe first he might punch Les. That might be satisfying.
"Another." Will murmured, indicating the glass in his hand.
