I wouldn't have done that. I left because I needed to be my own person and figure out my damned life and I couldn't do that knowing your arms would forever be there as a safety net. My life has been so fucked up I couldn't swear to forever. And I couldn't deny it from you any more.

Somewhere the anger has mixed with numb and her hands shake against the phone. She repeats the words again, and this time she means them, even if the rest of her begins to shake too.
